Malta has a fascinating medical history. In this lecture Prof Carmel Lino Cutajar traces the evolution of medical development throughout the whole period of human activity on the islands. Nebulous evidence of ancient times builds up to the grandeur of medical development with the advent of the Order of St John and the outstanding advances in contemporary medicine which Prof Cutajar will relate to the progress of medical advances on the European mainland. Important local medical developments, events and personages will receive special mention in this lavishly illustrated presentation.
