The Butchery Continues

Saqqajja-Trees-1024x768

THE BUTCHERY CONTINUES – The latest attack on trees yesterday at Saqqajja, Rabat, reduced a former row of majestic trees to ugly, bare and leggy branches topped by a few leaves! Now MEPA is defending this Rabat Local Council action, saying that the trees are not over 50 years old, when elderly residents there remember them already large 75 years ago! They no longer look like trees without a crown and major branches and therefore cannot function as trees, as they cannot absorb pollution or give out oxygen etc since there are no leaves to do so!

What has become of the revision of the Legal Notice on the protection of trees which was to be brought before Parliament by now?

A shameful desecration of what little greenery we might otherwise enjoy in the urban human environment.

Incidentally – your telephone appears to be deactivated (mailbox full), your email servers appear to be non-functional, as appears your event ticket-booking platform. It would be appreciated if you could inquire with me via email with guidance about the matter.
